This 3 day workshop will provide the space to come together in studio to learn how to creatively sequence your classes for a variety of bodies and abilities, read bodies to skilfully offer verbal assistance for both teaching online and in studio and how to safely offer hands on assists so that your students feel safe and supported allowing them to go deeper in their practice.

Course Content

This 3 day workshop is open to both qualified yoga teachers and trainee teachers.

 

This is a wonderful opportunity to really examine how you observe and communicate as a teacher. Teaching yoga has transformed over the past 3 years with many teachers moving to teaching online over the pandemic and now returning to teach in studio. This workshop will provide the space to come together in studio to learn how to creatively sequence your classes for a variety of bodies and abilities, read bodies to skilfully offer verbal assistance for both teaching online and in studio and how to safely offer hands on assists so that your students feel safe and supported allowing them to go deeper in their practice.

 

You will learn progressive principles for ‘seeing’ your students; deepening your understanding and practice of the art and skill of observation in order to be more effective and confident in helping students organise their bodies in held postural alignment as well as in movement.

 

From this place of observation you will learn practical and respectful ways to assist so your students can achieve more stability, balance and freedom in your classes.

Learning Outcomes

The art of sequencing and theming allowing you to teach in an authentic, accessible and powerful way for your students, from beginners to those looking for more of a challenge. Learn how to weave asana, pranayama, meditation and philosophy into your classes.

 

How to read bodies and hone your observation skills in order to assist and adapt confidently for different students.

 

How to give safe and effective adjustments and accessible verbal instructions that allow students to hold postures with deeper refinement and focus.

 

You will leave this workshop with the skills and confidence to assist your students in an empowering way and create accessible, intentional classes that allow your students to go deeper into their practice.

Your Teacher

Bridget began her yoga practices in India in 1975 and embarked on an intense program of study to become a senior teacher. Interweaving her visionary background within the fitness industry together with her love of meditation and yoga asana Bridget teaches with enthusiasm, sensitivity and insight, conveying yogas potential to support us in living and serving with love.

 

You’ll enjoy an inspirational and dynamic, yet playful class with a mix of flow and strong alignment principles, entwined with yoga philosophy.
