Course Content

Yin & Chakras Overview

Led by Yoga Teacher & Transpersonal Psychologist Jamie Clarke & Psychotherapist Lois Pimentel, students will be taken through an exciting yet challenging Yin & Chakra healing experience. All three components support a student’s growth; developing a student’s knowledge of the Yin Yoga- pertaining to a Chakra focus, knowledge of Chakra Philosophy- supplying theory & method towards balancing the archetypes of the Chakras, and a deep dive into transpersonal psychology- which works to release and resolve the energetic imbalances installed from our ancestry & early life programming.

Yin Yoga & its Functional Anatomy

Each day we will practice Yin Yoga with extended archetypal Chakra practices. There will be adjoining lectures to look at skills and techniques to practice & teach Yin skilfully & creatively, as part of a Chakra balancing methodology. There will be daily applied anatomy workshops which will focus on a skeletal segment, analysing the structural variation of each practitioner, to understand experientially differences and limitations of our Yin Yoga practice.

Chakra Philosophy

There will be in-depth lectures on Chakra psychology and philosophy. Each day will unpack the roots, expression and wisdom of a particular Chakra and learn how to recognise its imbalances and how to work with it as part of an integration (restoring to wholeness) process. A somatic discovery of our personal Chakra blueprint will begin as part of the Yin practice experience. And as part of lectures with inclusive partner-work, will extend to feeling and understanding how our Chakras and their archetypal imbalances developed in early life survival and adaption programming.

Transpersonal Psychology

Ancient eastern systems such as the Chakras, provide significant roots of wisdom which founded the Western Transpersonal psychology of today. The Chakra model provides practitioners with a structure and possibilities of their healing journey, and as such, have been incorporated to a contemporary approach of Transpersonal Psychotherapy. Led by Lois and Jamie, students will sink into working with what’s coming up for each chakra experience, engaging in meditations, personal inquiry and partner-work to discover insights and breakthroughs in their healing process.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be given advanced education on how to teach and practice Yin Yoga skilfully and safely as part of a specialised yoga discipline as well as Chakra healing system.

Students can expect to dive deeply into the archetypes of the Chakras as part of this process, shining a light on what is over compensated or diminished in our personalities and inter-personal dynamics.

Students can also expect to face the inherited themes & complexes as well as archetypal wounds and personality defences with gestalt/ parts work, shadow-work & core belief exercises.

Teaching Team

Jamie Clarke

Jamie has been teaching Yoga for more than twenty years. He is inspired by yoga as a means of mind and body integration, as well as psycho-emotional and spiritual transformation. He has been mentored by several of western Yoga’s most renowned pioneers and masters in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Rocket, Tripsichore, Yin Yoga & Applied Anatomy.

He currently focuses his teaching on Yin Yoga and Chakra Meditation and has developed a method and orientation of the Yin practice, which activates and harmonises an individual’s inherent elemental constitution. This strengthens or supplements the elements and their related chakras that are out of balance, bringing awareness and healing to all layers of the Self.

His teaching approach combines yin and yang, east and west. In this way, his appreciation of eastern philosophies of Tantra, Buddhism, Daoism and the cultural practices of Shamanism, come together with the observations and thinking of the great depth psychologists of the west. The result is a yoga and meditation philosophy and practice combined with transpersonal psychology, context and process.
