Course Content

This 60hr MyoYin Training is an innovative and highly immersive study program for practitioners and teachers interested in learning both the science and art of integrating myofascial release with Yin Yoga – the highly effective dual modality, known as MyoYin.

In this comprehensive program we will explore the most up-to-date fascia science and research, study 150+ myofascial release ball techniques and gain the knowledge and skills to practice and teach MyoYin safely, effectively and with intention.

Participants will study the functional approach as taught by Yin Yoga founder, Paul Grilley, learn the science behind passive stretching, explore how to address myofascial pain and how to optimise physical performance.

Graduates of this MyoYin teacher training will leave with the skills to creatively and intelligently sequence and teach a safe and effective MyoYin class, to all levels.

The training will be split into three parts:
• Fascia Science & Myofascial Release (Current Research, Theory & Practice)
• Yin Yoga and MyoYin (Techniques, Teaching Methods & Sequencing)
• Applied Functional Yoga Anatomy (Spine)

A special guest workshop will be offered by the remarkable Joanne Avison – renowned fascia expert and author of the ground breaking publication: Yoga, Anatomy, Fascia and Movement.

Joanne will peel back the layers of contemporary anatomy and take us on a rich journey of discovery to reveal the profound and intriguing relationship between our fascia and spiritual embodiment.

What is MyoYin?

MyoYin is a synergistic practice, that combines Yin Yoga with myofascial release techniques. This dual-modality is known to improve range-of-motion, enhance circulation, hydrate the tissues, reduce pain, optimise performance, aid in sports recovery, and support emotional wellbeing.

What is Fascia?
Fascia is the continuous web of connective tissue that wraps around, penetrates and interweaves between every muscle, organ and fibre in the body. Since 2017 the medical world has coined fascia as the largest sensory organ in the body, a significant part of our biomechanics and a key factor in pain management. The latest fascia research also provides evidence that suggest fascia health is directly linked to our psychological and emotional wellbeing, making this ‘fabric of life’ a crucial topic for all yoga practitioners and teachers to study in more detail.
