Claudia Dossena

Iyengar Yoga

B.K.S Iyengar’s method of practising and teaching hatha yoga provides practical tools to create and maintain bodily health and vitality, mental clarity and emotional stability. Iyengar Yoga is a safe, systematic and progressive approach to posture that will help you develop skills and abilities to improve your practice.

The sequences change week-to-week with different focuses over the month. Week one would focus on standing postures, the next week forward bends/seated twists. The third week studies backbends and then the last week of the month is given over to restorative postures.

Claudia teaches Iyengar Yoga by the book – that means using props like blankets, blocks, belts or chairs. This helps the student deepen their learning, and adjust the posture according to their individual needs.

The benefits? You’ll develop strength and flexibility, stamina and concentration, and correct body alignment.

Music is not used in Iyengar Yoga.
