Fiona Callanan

4Beat

I teach 4Beat Yoga with a focus. This means that each of  my classes are carefully sequenced and cued to bring out just one or two specific aspects of the practice, be that alignment points in asana, yoga philosophy or even modern neuroscience. I find that teaching in this way helps her students to learn and improve their practices and also helps to concentrate their minds, giving them a break from all of the rest of the distractions that we all deal with all the time every day.

My classes are all rooted in classical Iyengar alignment principles updated using modern functional movement techniques, and anchored by the steady, slow, beat of the music. My classes create a safe and joyful space for students to learn, aiming always to encourage autonomy and critical thinking in the practice both on and, most importantly, off, the mat.

Class Description

4Beat Focus

A 60min power hour class taught with a different theme each month. As well as aligning the breath to the slow, regular beat of the music, each class will have an additional focus point relating to asana, pranayama, or yoga philosophy. The focus point will change each month, helping to simplify core elements of the practice for curious 4Beat beginners while honing the skills of experienced practitioners, as well as teachers looking for inspiration.

All levels welcomed, from curious beginners to seasoned 4Beat yogis and teachers
