Your Teacher

Jo Phee

A luminary in the Yin Yoga world, Jo is known for her specialties in bone anatomy and fascia science. Personally trained and mentored by Yin Yoga founder Paul Grilley to teach the original yin curriculum, Jo has been serving as Paul’s Senior Lead Assistant since 2009 and carries the authentic lineage of the practice.

 

Dedicating herself to the science behind yin yoga, Jo has become a recognized fascia expert in the yoga community. As a Founding Member and Executive Director of the Fascia Research Society, Jo has completed Fascia Research School at Ulm University, University of Leipzig, McGill University and Padova University. She was Chair at the Biotensegrity Symposium Canada and has presented at the Pink Fascia Conference and World Congress of Fascia. Jo holds over 1,200 hours of fascial anatomy dissection experience and leads her own gross anatomy dissection lab in the US.

 

A celebrated innovator, Jo is widely known as the “Queen of Yin Sequencing”. She has created hundreds of prop-assisted yin poses and over 100 yin sequences used by teachers worldwide. With a proven experience of over 22 years of teaching, Jo has taught more than 150 trainings and 12,000 yin classes across 20 countries globally. Learning from Jo means receiving a fascia-informed yin education that is both deeply authentic and on the forefront of the practice.

Eligibility & Certification

This training is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to teach Yin Yoga. No prior experience or qualification is necessary.

 

Upon completion of 100% attendance, homework assignments and viewing of all recordings, students will be awarded the Yinspiration 60-hour certification, which can be applied towards their continuing education hours with Yoga Alliance USA and this certificate will be eligible for the Yinspiration 300 hours certification.

 

For those pursuing their Yinspiration 300 hours Yoga Alliance certification, a minimum of one year Yin Yoga teaching experience is required.
